Kirkbride Asylums
Back in the 1800’s, asylums and the mentally ill were a big problem in society. This problem constructed the new style of mental institutions called, the “Kirkbride Plan” named after Thomas Story Kirkbride. These huge structures were strictly built along a plan that basically made them look like “bat wings”.
